Red Bulls @ Chivas USA Preview and Predictions

Welcome all you football (soccer) fanatics for another addition of a Red Bulls preview. This is the MLS' third week and this match will be broadcasted on TeleFutura and on MSG at 4:00 PM this Saturday, April 10th. The Red Bulls share the best record with the LA Galaxy in the MLS at 2-0-0. The Red Bulls opened up Red Bull Arena's first match with a 1-0 win over Chicago and then a 1-0 win at Seattle the following week. The Red Bulls have been impressive, but they could play better than what they are doing now. This week, the Red Bulls take on the struggling Chivas USA at the Home Depot Center.

Chivas USA has been looking pretty shaky in the past two games and I am beginning to think differently about this team. They are playing very sloppy, they have no control, and they just don't look ready. The Red Bulls need to attack early to get a decent lead against this destroyed team to boost some postive attitude. I am expecting Bouna to make some key saves this game and will look more professional than the Sounders game last week.

For this game, I am predicting a 2-0 win for the Red Bulls. The Red Bulls just look like they have all of the positive sides to this game and Chivas will be humiliated. Dane Richards will look to play better against a slow Chivas defense and richards can just pound right threw them all. Until then, this is Jersey Chris signing off.

US Open Cup Dates Made

The New York Red Bulls are set to play the Philadelphia Union in the premilinary round of the US Open Cup. The date for this match will be April 27th at 8 PM. The tickets for this match are cheap, starting at $15 and tickets can be bought in the lower level sections. This is a great opportunity for fans to come out to see the Red Bulls play at the new Cathedral, Red Bull Arena, for their first time or to just see a nice match. This game comes three days after when the red Bulls also play the Union at home as well at the Red Bull Arena. Any news on this match will be posted immediatly.

New York Red Bulls Rumor of the Day

I've been hearing of this rumor for the past week or two, but it seems it's going to become true. Jens Lehmann, a former German national player and Arsenal goalkeeper, is set to join the Red Bulls with Thierry Henry, if he comes. Lehmann, at the age of 40, was let go from Arsenal for one reason: he kept on losing! I understand that the Red Bulls want international stars to get attention, but this one doesn't make sense at all. Lehmann was set to even retire at the end of this year, but now he won't because of the Red Bulls. The only way that I would be fine with this is if Henry comes. If Henry doesn't come but Lehmann does, I will be extremely disappointed. The best he could be for us is a backup goalkeeper. Here is a link with some small info about this event: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1263185/Jens-Lehmann-team-Arsenal-pal-Thierry-Henry-MLS-New-York-Red-Bulls.html . Any new updates or breaking news about the Red Bulls, the MLS, or the world will be posted here on http://www.goredbulls.blogspot.com/. Until then, it's Jersey Chris signing off.

Final Red Bulls 1 - Sounders 0

Finally, the streak is now over. The 29 winless streak on the road for the Red Bulls is history. The New York Red Bulls had defeated the Seattle Sounders by the score of 1-0. The lone goal was scored by Mac Kandji in the 21st minute. There was an argument between Mike Petke and Freddie Ljungberg after a play in the early parts of the game, but they were talking and laughing with each other in a proper fashion. Overall, my expectations of the red Bulls were corrected. I had predicted a win but had missed a bit on the score. Red Bulls head coach Hans Backe was out for the game because of stomach problems and had went to a hospital and there was nothing serious, so the assistant coach Richie Williams had taken over for the sick coach.

Goalkeeping for the Red Bulls was very decent and surprisingly kept the Sounders from scoring. I believe the defense of the Red Bulls was fantastic with protecting the corners. The Red Bulls missed some key moments that could've made the game maybe 2-0 at least. I was very impressed about how the Red Bulls had played and showed the Sounders and the MLS that the Red Bulls are for real. One of my friends who went out for the Seattle game has some pictures of the match and a video and I will post it on my blog ASAP. Until then, it's Jersey Chris signing off ( a famous saying by Big Viper. He has blog website, http://www.thevipersnest.com/. Check it out now!)

Fire @ Rapids/ Revs @ DC Recap and Premier League Scores

The first of the three games in the MLS today, Colorado Rapids @ Chicago Fire, had just went final at a score of a 2-2 tie. Colorado's goals were scored from Omar Cummings and Conor Casey(penalty). Chicago's goals were scored from Collins Johns and Brian McBride(penalty). Colorado's record is now 1-0-1 with 4 points and Chicago's record is now 0-1-1 with 1 point. A Fact to know is the Fire have only won once in their last 11 matches at Colorado. As I watched the game on my MatchCenter on http://www.mlssoccer.com/, the Rapids looked like they had the better part of the game with more shots on goal, more corner kicks, and better possession.

The New England Revolution @ DC United game has just went final and it was a very unentertaining match. The players didn't come ready, besides Kenny Mansally from New England. He had scored 2 goals in a little over 2 minutes. DC United needs to get there act together because they had just lost to an injury-destroyed Revolution. The Revolution are now 1-1-0 and have 3 points, while the United are 0-2-0 and have no points. The Revolution by farhad deserved the win. A post macth reaction for the big Red Bulls-Sounders game will come right after the game has ended.

Here are the English Premier League Scores for today:
  • Manchester United 1 - Chelsea 2
  • Stoke City 2 - Hull City 0
  • Arsenal 1 - Wolves 0
  • Sunderland 3 - Tottenham 1
  • Bolton 0 - Aston Villa 1
  • Portsmouth 0 - Blackburn 0
  • Burnley 1 - Manchester City 6

New York Red Bulls MatchDay 2

Good morning soccer fanatics and yes it is gameday for the New York Red Bulls. They are taking on the Seattle Sounders at their ground at 10:30 PM Eastern and will be available through Fox Soccer Channel and radio (check the Red Bulls website for more info). According to ESPN's soccer section, the writers are predicting a huge win for the Seattle Sonders tonight. I think that is total bs for many reasons. The stupid writers are only remembering the old Red Bulls who never won a single match on the road. Have the writers forgot that we defeated the mighty Brazillian team, Santos, 3-1 and we tied CSKA Moscow in our preseason 1-1 and they are in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals? The Red Bulls are probably one of the most disrespected teams in the MLS because all of the people think abbout the past and not the present. The Red Bulls need a good road win today to shut up all of the soccer critics and writers.

** Check out this interesting blog about the Red Bulls at http://www.thevipersnest.com/**

In the MLS, the games that are taking place besides the Red Bulls are the Chicago Fire @ Colorado Rapids, and New England Revolution @ DC United.

Here are the Red Bulls upcoming five games:
  • April 3rd Red Bulls @ Seattle Sounders 10:30 PM Fox Soccer Channel
  • April 10th Red Bulls @ Chivas USA 4:00 PM MSG
  • April 17th FC Dallas @ Red Bulls 7:30 PM MSG
  • April 24th Philadelphia Union @ Red Bulls 4:00 PM MSG
  • March 1st Red Bulls @ DC United 4:00 PM MSG

The next upcoming matches don't look very diffucult besides the West Coast trip. The fans at Qwest Field in Seattle and the Home Depot Center in LA will be energetic and loud, but we here at the Red Bull Arena have to set an example of how passionate we are for this team and sport. I will report right after the conclusion of the Red Bulls-Sounders game. Remember to visit http://www.thevipersnest.com/, it's a very good site for Red Bulls news. Until then, it's Jersey Chris signing off.

Red Bull Salzburg Update

Our sister team in Austria had won their league game today 2-0 against SV Mattersburg. In their league table, they are in first place with 62 points and the trailing team in second place, Rapid Vienna, has 53 points. Only the first place team in the Austrian Bundesliga gets to qualify for the UEFA Champions League and the second and third place teams qualify for the UEFA Europa League. Keep up the good work Red Bull Salzburg.

MLS Week 2 New York Red Bulls @ Seattle Sounders Preview and Predictions

Hello Red Bulls Nation(or other people) to a preview of the big New York Red Bulls vs Seattle Sounders game. This game will be televised on Fox Soccer Channel and will begin at 10:30 PM Eastern. Last year's game against the Seattle Sounders in their first MLS game at Qwest Field(pictured above) was definitly a game to forget. The Red Bulls had came in as the 2008 MLS Cup Runner Up's and they got smacked! The expansion team, Seattle Sounders, had defeated the Red Bulls 3-0 and that's when the horrible season had began. After a very impressive preseason and a home win against Santos FC and Chicago Fire, The Red Bulls are looking for some revenge.

The weather for the game tomorrow looks very rainy and that could be an advantage for the Sounders. The Sounders have sold out every game for the past year in the MLS and there capacity is 35,700, much larger than any other MLS team. They have a very supportive and energetic fanbase, so look for them to pressure the Red Bulls. Robinson and Albright look good from practice, but will not play tomorrow. Freddie Ljungberg from the Sounders is dealing with a back pain injury, but is probable to play and Montero has a similar injury and is probable as well.

The Keys to Tomorrow's Game for the Red Bulls are:

  • To have consistency
  • Do not let the fans of the Sounders get to you
  • Play good defense
  • Have good passing

If the Red Bulls are successful in following their keys for their match, I am predicting a 2-1 win for the Red Bulls. I believe Bouna Coundoul could keep Montero, Evans, and Ljungberg from getting their goals and Lindpere will have another excellent performance. In case you people need to refer to me, just call me Jersey Chris. Until then, goodbye for now.
